time to fill in a long gap - last saturday mick took me down to East Grinstead for the Afghanistan Inspiration exhibition ..... the variety of the pieces was stunning and so much thought had gone into each one - about 20 other participants were there, i tried to talk to as many of them as i could and enjoyed hearing about their perspectives on the project and how they arrived at the piece they made - i managed to get photos of most of them, there were over 70, i can't put them up here as i don't have permission from the makers (click on my inspiration square and check out UK entries)

all visitors were asked to name their 5 favourites to decide which pieces go into the european tour - we should hear which have been chosen soon - the rest will be touring the UK with the Internation Craft and Hobby Fair outfit for about a year, so it will be quite a while before mine comes home

the drive down gave me an opportunity to take in the surprising winter colours along the motorway .... twiggy dogwoods in shades of yellow, orange and red, glints of green, plenty of silver, pewter and aged bronze - someone has put a lot of care into the planting on those roadside banks, i hope they know how much pleasure they bring
