burbling along

spent some time working on the look of this blog last week - finally got to grips with adding my own work as a background, what i really wanted to add is a collage of holey moley pieces but it was too big but i will keep trying - meanwhile this feels good

actually i was doing it as practise for starting up the group blog for life after holey moley - current working title = 'through the buttonhole'

work goes gently on with the summer quilt - tackling it in small chunks seems to work well for me, it gives me opportunities to try out different styles in my usual flitting way but also achieve completed parts at a pleasing rate - i am really enjoying the hand-stitching and surprising myself with quite small stitches and a degree of precision i usually find tedious

i have to admit that i am currently under the influence of jude hill, her use of old cloth and light touch with hand stitching have hit a resonance in me

no photos to add this time but i am enjoying the autumn colours of the garden - every day i wake to new colours in the creeper draped over the garage and the decoration of the green mass of clematis changes from bright yellow buttons to silvery fluff balls, and today the sun is making it all glow
