more weaves

i've done three more weaves - the first is a table napkin i remember using at home or at gramie's (memory not quite up to the mark!) into which i have woven leftover strips mum cut out for a patchwork, all floral cottons - it's a brighter mix of colours than i usually use but i'm hoping it will become a wrapping cloth for a presie for mum - at the moment it's reversible as it doesn't have a backing cloth i've started adding smaller weaves into some of the spaces - photos soon

the second is all silk - i started with an old silk scarf of zelle's and strips from the main fabric and lining of the chinese robe i recently bought and dismantled - i felt it was better to cut some of those on the bias, the scarf is too fragile to tear and the chinese robe fabric was too strong because of the ?damask weave - the other strips are from my stash
i like the sticky-out bits around the edges ..... hope to keep or use them somehow

the third piece is smaller and monochrome ..... white, strips of silks, cotton & linen woven into a rectangle of cotton sheet and anchored onto linen - no photo yet, i'll pop it in later when it's progressed further
