thinking out loud

linda'sthoughts, on the what if forum, got me thinking ....

this all started with a love of "jude's sense of everything" - i wanted to write lyrically and musingly about my clothy doings and thinkings - i wanted to be able to make cloth like jude's .....
that didn't really happen, but i did start to see that the thinking, trying out, deciding how and, maybe, why were a really important part of making the cloth
i am realising that i am learning a different approach to making from jude and all of you - less of the "how to do this", technique and skill based stuff and much more reflective, "what if" and "why not"
i see that my cloth doesn't have to tell a story for others, everyone else can read whatever they like and see their own story .... or not! the story in my cloth is the how and why of the choices and decisions that i did and didn't make
i've still got a long way to go but i am getting less concerned with the destination - just enjoying the trip, taking in the scenery along the way and not getting wound up about the route map

thank you jude
thank you all of you
for being such good company
for all your wisdom

I like what you have written here. Its part of the process working out what the cloth means for you personally and finding your own approach. The 'what if' is important to me as well.
my Heart smiles. we all have
come a long way, yes? and
part of it is the love of one
another. i "tilted my head
onto your shoulder" reading your
post of the Forum. sister Sticky...

i feel so many echoes here (does one 'feel' echoes?)... to begin to enjoy the process IS to make a cloth like Jude, right?
