In a hanging mood!
all of a sudden i seem to be finishing pieces and having them ready to hang - 3 pieces in 2 weeks must be a record for me!
developing this piece was recorded in posts labeled going-home - since then i have added:
![]() |
A Leamington Childhood |
- the tricycle: one of a pair run over in his drive by a family friend, these were rescued and repaired by dad and we rode them for years
- the sewing accessories to the left of the house, representing all the clothes made by gramie and mum on her hefty singer sewing machine (which terrified her!)
- the postbox outside the house, made from an image of collaged stamps printed on paper
The development of Dream Home? is recorded in posts labeled home-again - after it returns from being exhibited with other work by EG members i will send it to our friends who used to live in the house
i have enjoyed developing and stitching each one for different reasons - all three* have personal meaning and have allowed me to reflect on what i was including and why i was making them - i am really pleased that two were completed them with no deadlines, the smallest one has a deadline almost 2 months away, so there was no immediate pressure to get on with it
although i am trying to clear my mind a bit to allow me to focus more on a piece for exhibition in september - this is still in the thinking stage but almost ready for sampling and getting some materials ready

* PS - June 2025 - i clearly forgot to record the third piece and now can't remember what it was!
