what i did in my holidays ...

that's a bit cheeky really as life is one long holiday for me - but this is a project i've started as something i can pick up and put down easily over a long period and it will have a clear finishing point i decided that i needed a lightwieght coverlet for during hot weather, something to replace the duvet on hot nights - so i've started making a series of small quilts which i will piece together i've raided my fabric stash and put together a collection of soft and worn textiles to work with - so far it's all hand stitching, the idea is also to have something i can work on when i'm resting in bed - there might be some machine stitching eventually but i'm aiming for most of it to be simple hand stitches the good thing is that it's easy to feel a sense of achievement and progress as each piece is different and is fairly quick to make - i have to admit to being influenced by jude hill's blog "spirit cloth", her work has a deceptive simplicity which draws me
