more weaves
these are all small weaves, destined to be incorporated into larger pieces
this one is fragments of nightshirt and scrapped skirt - loosely woven to leave small patches of bacground showing through - i've started stitching into this since i took the picture
the next is fine cut strips of printed linen, tightly woven and mistyfused to cheesecloth for support
the third is mostly torn strips of dyeing undercloth
the aim is to use these for cutting into as shapes and masks to applique but ..... i can't think of what shapes to do and am struggling with the idea of cutting into them - my nerve seems to have run out for the time being
the way i see it is that i'm just not ready for this step yet, maybe the ideas will come in a while if i carry on with something else
i've started stitching into another weave made from double-dyed muslin and some scarf fabric, also made a pojagi style backing for it using silks from the same double-dyed batch - i hope to make this one up as a wrapping cloth, probably for mum as it's got a lot of pink - pics later when i've made more progress
