thinking out loud

been thinking about the memory piece for daddy (whew, it's centuries since i called him that ... when & why did he become 'my father'?)
since C2C i've been wanting to base it on a cloth weave but had trouble working out how to incorporate the other mementos and ideas, also terrified of making an irretrievable mess of the smaller textile relics - i think i might have had a breakthrough .......
i use the textile relics for a cloth weave AND make a separate mixed media piece with the other stuff - the cloth piece can be more 'feeling' and the mix-med would be more about what he did/was
this feels better - i think i was trying to cram too much into one piece, techniques, memories, themes, materials, objects - it was getting too crowded
