.... no title
just a quick review to remind me of what i have been up to recently - i seem to be working on lots of little things which leaves me feeling as though treading water creatively ... but that's not so bad, i'm consolidating learning and practising stitching skills, the urge to achieve isn't as strong at the moment, i'm enjoying the process more - i have also done more planning recently, which is unusual for me and good practise for when i start on something which needs to be thought through
i made a little boro-style cloth-weave bag recently for keeping my sewing essentials handy:
i had meant to put a drawstring around the top but changed my mind
i did some more work on my wedding shirt as part of the boro class with jude - i had to strengthen the front panels - so while i was at it i took off the pockets - i might put another small pocket near the right hip, using some leftover pocket fabric, it will be more like a smock then - it's so comfortable to wear now, all the handling has softened it a lot, i can see it being a great favourite - i'm working on the grey one now
meanwhile i also made a few pebbles for jude's magic feather project
i made a little boro-style cloth-weave bag recently for keeping my sewing essentials handy:
i had meant to put a drawstring around the top but changed my mind
since i've been using it i realised that some sort of closure and handles would be useful, so i plaited some leftover strips of fabric into a cord and added it
now i love it to bitsi did some more work on my wedding shirt as part of the boro class with jude - i had to strengthen the front panels - so while i was at it i took off the pockets - i might put another small pocket near the right hip, using some leftover pocket fabric, it will be more like a smock then - it's so comfortable to wear now, all the handling has softened it a lot, i can see it being a great favourite - i'm working on the grey one now

i used reclaimed curtain fabric for the base and snippets of eco-dye experiments for the pebbles - i really must get them into the post |
the boro-style strip piece is resting at the moment, i'm deciding what to do next ...... more running/kantha stitch? introduce a different design element? something to contradict the linearity of it maybe? my focus is rather woolly right now so it's enough to be stitching gently along with something not too challenging while things settle down
