filling in space & time

inspired by helen parrott's book on mark making i hauled out a piece of linen from a workshop on printing - it has some lovely spaces between the lightly coloured blocks, they were just crying out for some stitch

then i though the colour blocks could do with a bit of filling, so i've been using them to sample different stitches and colour combinations

it started as a sort of what-if i try a bit of this here and a bit of that there - now it's looking as if it's going to be another book doiley, it's the right sort of size
