delving in the archives

i was feeling like starting a new challenge and lo! Threads of Time appeared on the horizon - a local project hosted by our county archive - the challenge is to make a textile work inspired by items in the Wittewronge family collection, held by the archive - the completed works will be exhibited there in june 2014 and maybe beyond that date around the county

i've been to a couple of meetings now and was hooked from the beginning - i think this is a wonderful opportunity to explore some local history in a purposeful and creative way - a way of combining my interest in social history with stitch and textiles, and developing a completed piece of work from an inspirational source - just the sort of challenge i need right now
