threads of time - 7

my thermofax screens have all arrived now so i had a good play with them

paper lamination onto polyester sheer
script from a 14th century parchment scroll, digitally manipulated

sections from two cloths layered with print using several screens

i'm quite please with the results - the photos don't make them look very interesting but they are much better full sized

gesso on lutradur, heat treated - on a black background for contrast
decorative calligraphy scroll-work from a 17th century document

so far these are samples but i plan to stick to a limited palette to reflect the colours in the original documents - also it looks as though i will be doing a cooperative piece with lizzie and she is mainly working in monochrome at the moment - we will need to decide on our colour soon, it's time i started making the real thing soon

i am delighted with the thermofax screens - the level of detail they give is much better than i expected and they are really easy to use  - i got them from lynda of purplemissus - i'm sure i will be getting more as i am getting hooked
