my little heap of printed surfaces has got bigger as i have added a few more thermofax screens to my original order - i have really enjoyed the printing, it's nice to do something a bit messy - it's also been good to experiment with building up layers of pattern, using a very limited palette has made the process easier by limiting my choices a little - i feel that i have pushed the layering further than i would have done previously, to good effect so far, i should probably keep going with at least 1 piece to see just how much i can pile on before it becomes a mess, but i want to do some stitching so i will probably take a break
the ideas for how to use the printed materials are popping up all the time and i am finding it hard to focus on any particular option - maybe concentrating on stitch for a while will help narrow down the choices - some of the possibilities are:

in between printing sessions i have been experimenting with some fagotting, as a way of joining some of the fragments - i thinks it's something i could use in small quantities

- collage of different printed surfaces, over-stitched with floral/curlicue motifs lifted from documents
- small fragments of printed surfaces stitched together to form a strip and presented as a scroll
- several strip shaped fragments suspended with tally stick copies
- a collection of assemblages made from printed surfaces presented on a large or several small canvas/es
- .....more in the same vein.....
the idea of an overall concept seems to have gone out with the tide, but the unifying themes of script and scrolls remains
