mulling over a new project, possibly a small series or several small pieces assembled
actually doing some preparation instead of just launching in - started with thinking-out-loud-notes - now moving on with some ecodyeing
felted a piece of merino blanket in the washing machine - unfortunately my pebbles-in-socks for friction split ope & one large pebble split, so i have some gravel in the washing machine - this could be an expensive piece of felt if the machine breaks down, i should have done a bigger one to get my money's worth!
anyway - felt folded over with + eucalyptus leaves, copper tacks, red onion skin scraps & bits of wire inside
this is it freshly unwrapped, so still wet
then added rusty keys and some small pieces of dried pomegranate rind and wrapped it round a glass jar
this is it after unwrapping - i loved how the pomegranate and 1 key stuck to the jar
then tied with string, into a boiling bag with some rainwater and a little bit of iron wire + a few bit of hibiscus flower on the surface of the bundle - steamed, topped up with a bit of tea later
now waiting for it to dry - the impressions left by the keys are pretty deep, but i'm not sure they will be as noticeable when the wool dries - watch this space!
