new year - new style
a while back i came across arlee's blog which led me on to jude's, now i'm going back to follow arlee's path for a while in her online Frankenstitch class
before the class started i sifted through my stash for suitable fabrics to work on, but when the class started they turned out to be mostly a bit on the small side ..... so i did another trawl and found a couple of lengths of linen/ramie i painted on and a cloth weave from C2C (the last one shown here)
i started on the painted fabric and followed the intructions, used old flannelette sheeting for batting, i can add more if that isn't thick enough on the basis that if i start with thicker stuff i can't easily thin it down - the black marks are my basting - i chose to do a wiggly 'bone' to echo the terracotta paint squiggles
i used 2 diagonal straight bones on the cloth weave to break up the horizontal and vertical lines - i haven't added batting yet as this is already three layers thick,
i will see what the next step is and then decide if the bones need stabilising further
