since the felting stage i have outlined all the motifs to define and detail them

then i had to pause a bit to work out how to acheive my 'veiled' effect - as usual it was while talking it through with mick that the idea came: i wanted a delicated veiling effect and he suggested 'spidery' which immediately made me think of a fine web or mesh....... needle-lace i thought!

so i've been practising with different threads and mesh sizes, i've done a digital mock-up and feel happy that thats what i want to go with - yet again it's the bit when i put needle to fabric which is scary, my main bloc is always the thought that i'm doing something irreversibly wrong ..... i need to work on that

in the meantime i have backed the piece on cotton bump and lightly applied the blue felt border and am now summoning the courage to dive in with the needle again
