looking back on the last week or so i feel that i've done more than i realised - finished a couple of domestic tasks: duvet cover repairs, new foot-rest cover - started on a caravan job: re-covering armrests & there must be something else i've forgotten
so that gave me permission to play a bit - made a start on preparing for my screen-printing input for october EG meeting - nothing interesting to show but i learned a lot and have a better idea of what i aim to do for the session - it also prompted me to re-watch Dunnewold and Grabowski DVDs and check a couple of relevant books, all useful, i already feel better prepared
then i got round to some indigo dyeing - i've been working on the transformation of a denim jacket with cloth-weave & boro-style embellishment, i wanted some appropriately coloured thread for stitching - made the most of having a small dye vat on the go and threw in a few more yarns and some odd bits of lace and doiley (!!!!)
i started using the silk yarn before taking the picture so it's not included, but who cares! part of the round doiley will probably make its way onto the jacket, pics to follow soon
i think i may have finished the decorative stitching for the calder quilt challenge, i could keep going but will sit on it for a while and think about how to finish it
and yesterday we went foraging ..... originally to pick damsons but we also found two other types of plums, some delicious round golden ones and some oval green with purple blush - so it's stewed plum and plum clafoutis for now with plum & damson jam and damson gin later .... yummy
