another little outing
i finally made it to the William Morris Gallery in time to see Grayson Perry's Walthamstow Tapestry
a sort of seven stages of man as a shopper and consumer - i mainly took shots of the detail rather than the main subject matter
the overall effect seemed rather frantic and sinister to me, which is fairly appropriate i guess
the colour choice and style of the figures added to the sense of unease
what i really liked was his use of floral motifs and other patterns which drew on quite a wide variety of textile traditions
