works in progress

i know it looks like i've been twiddling my thumbs for a while but i have been busy stitching....honest

after getting over the worst of my latest chest infection i started on a small gift piece for friends - i actually took time to plan and design it as i wanted it to work out  - it's finished and i bundled it up and gave it to them, but forgot to take a photo first, silly billy! so i popped in just now to get a quick snap:

it was for mike and lizzie's 25th wedding anniversary, the two central hearts are for them- the two heart buttons are for their children dan & katie, dan recently married martina and she is the stitched heart next to him
it's mostly eco-dyed fabrics, it was nice to use them for someone else

i've also been stitching some more eco-dyed scraps together, initially with nothing much in mind but they are now coming together as the mark II boiler doiley:

at the moment they are only pinned together to see if it works               i want to finish mark I before i go any further with this one

and now we are off in the caravan again - i'm taking boiler doiley marki to work on and my karen ruane online class starts soon so i should be pretty busy
