over the border into lancashire today
up above burnley we saw the singing ringing tree
the panorama was stupendous
all the better because of the long awaited spring weather
but with no wind it neither sang nor rang
just looked good

i heard curlews
saw a skylark close to, on the ground
then onto queen street mill for an exhibition .... and lots of cotton-weaving paraphenalia:

How wonderful to find art like that in such divine places
the day before our visit the wind was up to 50mph, so although the singing & ringing was probably amazing i doubt that i would have got there!
