threads of time - 4

it's been christmas, a good time to get on with some uninterrupted stitchery - i did a bit more manipulation of some script from the Brewhouse deeds (DE/Lw/T98) to make a pattern reminiscent of lace - stitched out a few more samples: on cotton

and on lutradur, followed by heat gun treatment

i'm happy with that design now and will probably also get into converted to a thermofax screen, that way i can also print with it for the project and other work

i did a further sample onto heat dispersible stabilizer with a layer of polyester thread snippings - then i cut out the negative space with a soldering iron - the result was very effective but the stabilizer did not disperse with heat at the level i was using and i dn't want to wreck the whole piece - i might try again with water soluble stabilizer as i know that works

i have also been digitizing some other bits and pieces, mainly script but also some symbols and embellishments:

there are so many elements that i want to include that i was beginning to wonder about the format - how i could assemble so many bits and pieces into a united whole - a flash of inspiration hit me ..... do it as a scroll, i can use different surfaces as a background for stitch, print etc and stitch them together like the scrolls from the collection .... sounds promising to me
