inspirations for memorial
a few of the ideas i am collecting for techniques and structure
Rozanne Hawksley Pale Armistice
i remember being impressed by Rozanne Hawksley's work, this one in particular - it really spoke to me about the consequences of war
Guerra de la Paz Spring, Sprang, Sprung
this structure showed what could be achieved on a large scale, but too ambitious for me
another variation on the rag rug approach
i like this use of "memory sticks"
i like the idea of a rag rug approach - it's portable, allows for a variety of different cloth types, can take on any shape - this collection of small pieces offers possibilities
fabric wreath from pinterest
another variation on the rag rug approach
jessica perry and pupils of hevingham primary school
i like this use of "memory sticks"
a couple of samples - both crumpled fabric assembled for a garland structure

Your idea sounds interesting, looking forward to seeing what you do
on reflection though i think i want to focus on being more celebratory, but i'll talk about that another time
"Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace..."
and I still hold a flower of hope & peace in my heart whenever I listen to this song
