D2016 - more thoughts

this might seem like a minor issue but my thoughts turned to the colour of the stitching thread for this memorial - it might show sometimes so it may as well be a feature  and i'd rather avoid white - red for blood might be the obvious choice but i want to avoid that too, partly because of the negative associations with war and death, but also because it implies blood-ties and i want this to be about ties of feeling, affection and fellowship

so i'm thinking YELLOW - warm, friendly, the sun and gold


it's the background colour for the flag of Nord Pas de Calais

         the yellow roses which gramie loved
