oops - better news

two days since seeing the orthopod and i'm feeling much brighter - amazing what some good news and reassurance can do - the stockinette trim on the plaster has started to look a bit grubby so my first single-handed stitching has been starting to tart it up a bit

the wrist is in a good position and healing - but still 4 weeks more in plaster - the the thumb ligament might have been damaged but that can be repaired later, it could also just be that swelling and the plaster position are limiting movement

the best news was that i could start moving my knee, taking off the splint and rebuilding the strength so after a cautious start i have now discarded the splint and am even gently walking without a  stick around the house.....bliss

so today, while mick is away for the day, i have had a shower and washed my hair  for the first time in over 2 weeks - i'm still going downstairs backwards and one step at a time but so much more easily, everything is less of an effort so i am moving around much more
after a bit more work
