poetry of stitch - 1 first exercise
for once i've followed the instructions and finished - it was tempting to skip the stitching, but i enjoyed it, somehow it was not a chore like the last time i did this
i found it harder than i thought to show the curve with straight lines without simply filling the void - i tried to think about how each square could be achived in straight stitches and found that helpful
i wish i had come up with more ideas for using different line qualities - i got stuck at varying the thickness - tried broken lines but they just felt like filling the void
i could not resist usisng a variegated thread rather than a plain one - not sure it added anything but i like the effect
dithered over whhhhther to frame or not - felt the individual squares did not need it as the stitching within the curve showed the edges, but decided on my "tradmark" edging for the outline - it finishes it without being just a plain square
